The Whistler is an American radio anthology crime drama series broadcast on CBS from 1942 to 1955, each episode narrated by an unseen, whistling narrator identified only as the Whistler, who introduces a self contained story of crime, guilt and often ironic retribution. Unlike series built around a recurring detective, each episode presented new characters, frequently drawing its suspense from a protagonist's own crime or moral failing rather than an outside investigation.
