The Navy Lark is a BBC radio comedy created by Lawrie Wyman and George Evans, running from 1959 to 1977, set aboard the fictional Royal Navy vessel HMS Troutbridge and built around the incompetence of its crew and officers, with a regular cast that included Leslie Phillips, Jon Pertwee and Stephen Murray. Its run of eighteen years made it one of the longest continuously produced comedy series in BBC radio history. The Navy Lark is widely regarded as one of the classic long-running British radio comedies of the postwar era.
