ITMA, short for its catchphrase title It's That Man Again, is a BBC radio comedy series starring comedian Tommy Handley that premiered in 1939 and continued through most of the Second World War and after, built around rapid wordplay, running catchphrases and a large recurring cast of eccentric comic characters passing through Handley's various fictional offices and postings. Broadcast during the war years, the program was widely credited at the time with sustaining British civilian morale through its fast-paced, escapist absurdity. ITMA is regarded by broadcast historians as one of the most popular and influential British radio comedy programs of its era, shaping the catchphrase-driven sketch format that later British radio and television comedy continued to draw on.
