In Our Time is a BBC Radio 4 discussion program hosted by Melvyn Bragg from its first broadcast on October 15, 1998 until his departure in July 2025, with each weekly episode bringing together Bragg and three academic guests to discuss a single historical, scientific, philosophical or cultural subject in roughly forty five minutes. It became the first BBC program made available as a podcast, beginning in 2004, with its full archive later opened for streaming and download. By July 2025 it had aired 1,089 episodes and drawn a weekly audience of more than two million listeners, and it is widely credited with sustaining a mainstream audience for serious, expert-led discussion on national radio.
