Escape

Escape is an American radio anthology series broadcast by CBS from 1947 to 1954, presenting self-contained adventure and suspense stories of characters confronting extreme peril, produced by much of the same production team responsible for the better known anthology series Suspense. Because it was scheduled without a regular headline star and against stronger competition, Escape received less contemporary promotion than Suspense despite comparable writing and production values. Broadcast historians widely regard Escape as one of the strongest anthology dramas of American radio's golden age, its relative obscurity a matter of scheduling rather than quality.
