Food, Inc. is a 2008 American documentary directed by Robert Kenner and narrated by journalist Michael Pollan and author Eric Schlosser, examining how a small number of large corporations came to dominate American food production. The film follows the industrial processes behind meat production, grain cultivation and food safety, arguing that agribusiness consolidation has produced food that is unhealthy, environmentally damaging and abusive of both animals and workers, while keeping consumers largely uninformed about how their food is actually made. It was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature and the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary, and its commercial success later prompted a 2024 sequel, Food, Inc. 2.
