American Factory is a 2019 American documentary directed by Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert, about the Chinese company Fuyao's reopening of a shuttered General Motors assembly plant in Moraine, Ohio, as an automotive glass factory. It had its festival premiere at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, was distributed by Netflix, and was the first film acquired by Barack and Michelle Obama's production company, Higher Ground Productions, with production companies Higher Ground and Participant Media behind it. The film won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature at the 92nd Academy Awards.
