The Legend of Pipi is a 2022 animated short film directed by Julia Schoel and Birgit Pollo Uhlig, made by Schoel as a thesis project at the Savannah College of Art and Design and released on YouTube. It follows Pipi, a scraggly cat who sets out to rescue the Cat Kingdom's princess from a beast, mistakes several other princesses along the way, finds the real princess already dead, and accidentally brings the dragon back to the kingdom before being arrested for the destruction that follows. Premiering July 16, 2022, the film passed ten million YouTube views, screened at SCAD AnimationFest and the FIAF Animation First Festival, where it won a Special Mention, and earned composer Bryan Teoh a Hollywood Music in Media Awards nomination.
