The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is a 1998 action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo 64, directed by Yoshiaki Koizumi and Eiji Aonuma under producer Shigeru Miyamoto, and the first entry in the Zelda franchise rendered in three-dimensional graphics. The game follows the young hero Link as he travels between childhood and adulthood using the time-altering power of the titular ocarina to stop the warlord Ganondorf from seizing the sacred Triforce. Ocarina of Time introduced control conventions, including context-sensitive targeting of enemies later widely known as lock-on or Z-targeting, that were subsequently adopted throughout the action-adventure genre, and it is frequently cited by critics and industry retrospectives as one of the greatest video games ever made.
