Rocket League is a 2015 vehicular soccer game developed and originally published by Psyonix, in which teams of up to four players drive rocket powered cars to hit a giant ball into their opponents' goal. It was one of the first major titles to support cross platform play between different consoles and PC, which helped keep its player base unified rather than splitting it across separate communities. The game moved to a free to play model in 2020, drew more than a million concurrent players within a day of the change, and its official Rocket League Championship Series helped establish vehicular sports games as a viable esport.
