Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Interactive and Networked Media Landmarks

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is a 2004 action adventure game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, following Carl Johnson as he returns to the fictional state of San Andreas, modeled on California and Nevada in the early 1990s, after his mother's murder. The game expanded the series' open world to a scale several times larger than its predecessors and set a Guinness World Record for the number of actors credited in a video game, with more than 60,000 lines of recorded dialogue. It became the best selling game on the PlayStation 2 and is regarded as one of the defining titles of its console generation.
