Elephants Dream

Elephants Dream is a 2006 Dutch animated science fantasy short film directed by Bassam Kurdali and produced by the Blender Foundation, following an older character named Proog guiding a younger character named Emo through a strange mechanical world. Made by a seven-person international team using almost entirely free and open-source software, it was created as a public field test of the Blender 3D program, and both the finished film and its full production files were released under a Creative Commons license. Its open release model made it an influential early demonstration of collaborative, open-source filmmaking, and it was later shown in the Museum of Modern Art's 2008 Design and the Elastic Mind exhibition.
