Bamboozled is a 2000 American satirical black comedy drama film written and directed by Spike Lee, about a modern televised minstrel show featuring Black actors in blackface makeup and the violent fallout that follows the show' s success. It features an ensemble cast including Damon Wayans, Jada Pinkett Smith, Savion Glover, Tommy Davidson and Michael Rapaport, and though it received mixed reviews and was a box office failure on release, it later achieved cult status for its satirical examination of stereotypical depictions of Black people in American film and television.
