Million Dollar Baby is a 2004 American sports drama directed by and starring Clint Eastwood, who also composed its score, following an underdog boxer, Maggie Fitzgerald, played by Hilary Swank, who trains under Eastwood's cynical coach and suffers a catastrophic spinal injury after a championship bout. The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture at the 77th ceremony, with Eastwood winning Best Director, Swank winning Best Actress and Morgan Freeman winning Best Supporting Actor.
