Driving Miss Daisy is a 1989 American comedy drama directed by Bruce Beresford and written by Alfred Uhry, based on Uhry's 1987 play of the same name. Starring Jessica Tandy, Morgan Freeman and Dan Aykroyd, it follows the twenty five year relationship between an elderly Jewish woman in Atlanta and the Black chauffeur hired to drive her. The film was a critical and commercial success and won four Academy Awards at the 62nd ceremony, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Tandy, and as of 2025 remains the most recent PG rated film to win Best Picture.
