All About Eve is a 1950 American film written and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, starring Bette Davis as an aging Broadway star whose seemingly devoted young fan and new assistant, Eve Harrington, gradually schemes to displace her both professionally and personally. Built around sharp, dense dialogue and a layered flashback structure, the film examines ambition, aging and performance both onstage and off.
