Saw (franchise)

Saw is an American horror media franchise created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell that began with the eponymous 2004 film. Centered on the puzzle-and-trap methods of the killer Jigsaw, who forces victims into elaborate, often fatal moral tests, the franchise quickly became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon and has expanded into multiple sequel films, a television series, video games, comic books, music, theme park attractions and merchandise including toys, masks and clothing. It ranks as the fifth-highest-grossing horror franchise of all time, and Guinness World Records named it the most successful horror franchise in history in 2010.
