Mickey Mouse

Mickey Mouse is a media franchise built around the cartoon character co-created in 1928 by Walt Disney and Ub Iwerks, first appearing in theatrically released animated short films. Mickey is an anthropomorphic mouse, typically shown in red shorts, large shoes and white gloves, who became the longtime corporate icon and mascot of the Walt Disney Company and a figurehead of American animation. The franchise built around him extends across cartoon shorts, feature films, television series, comics, video games and merchandise, and regularly includes a supporting cast of recurring characters such as his girlfriend Minnie Mouse, his dog Pluto, his friends Donald Duck and Goofy, and his nemesis Pete.
