Despicable Me (franchise)

Despicable Me is an American media franchise created by Sergio Pablos, produced by Illumination and distributed by its parent company Universal Pictures. It centers on Gru, a supervillain turned secret agent, his three adoptive daughters Margo, Edith and Agnes, and his yellow, capsule-shaped Minions, who have themselves grown into a major merchandising phenomenon and starred in their own spin-off films. Beginning with the original 2010 feature film, the franchise has expanded into multiple sequels, prequels, short films, video games and extensive merchandise, becoming one of the highest-grossing animated franchises of all time.
