Jacques Perrin

French actor and film producer

Jacques Perrin, born Jacques André Simonet on July 13, 1941, in Paris, and who died April 21, 2022, also in Paris, was a French actor and film producer whose career spanned six decades of French and international cinema. Sometimes credited under his birth surname as Jacques Simonet, he worked both in front of and behind the camera, building a reputation as a producer willing to back ambitious documentary and narrative projects alongside his continuing work as a performer. His dual role as actor and producer made him a recognizable presence in French film circles, and his producing credits in particular extended his influence over French cinema well beyond his own screen performances.
