The organizations native to internet-era, on-demand media distribution, grouped together because the atlas's own current holdings across streaming, podcasting, social media and video games are not yet numerous enough in any one kind to warrant separate groups; a future wave that grows any one kind past today's size should revisit it. Belongs here: a streaming service such as Netflix, a podcast platform such as Apple Podcasts, an early social networking site such as SixDegrees.com, and a video game company such as Atari, Inc. Does not belong here: broadcast organizations, grouped under broadcasters, or the technology these organizations rely on, which belongs to the technology type.
