Jonathan McIntosh

Jonathan McIntosh is an American video essayist, remix artist and cultural critic who has built an audience of more than a million subscribers analyzing popular media on YouTube. He first drew wide attention in 2009 with Buffy versus Edward: Twilight Remixed, a video mashup that was nominated for a Webby Award and later cited in a Digital Millennium Copyright Act exemption ruling recognizing remix as fair use. From 2013 to 2015 he produced and co-wrote Tropes vs. Women in Video Games, a Kickstarter-funded series examining gender representation in games, and in 2016 he launched the Patreon-funded series Pop Culture Detective Agency, which studies the intersections of politics, masculinity and entertainment across shows including Steven Universe, The Big Bang Theory and Star Wars.
