Mark Millar (born 25 December 1969) is a Scottish comic book writer who first gained prominence on The Authority for DC Comics' Wildstorm imprint before becoming one of the best known writers at Marvel Comics. His creator-owned and company work includes The Ultimates, described by Time magazine as the comic book of the decade, Civil War, which inspired the film Captain America: Civil War, Wolverine: Old Man Logan, which inspired the film Logan, and Kick-Ass and Kingsman, both adapted into feature films. He founded Millarworld as a unified imprint for his creator-owned titles, and in August 2017 Netflix acquired Millarworld to develop its properties, with Millar serving as an executive producer on film and television adaptations of his work. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire in 2013 for services to film and literature.
