Wreck-It Ralph is a 2012 computer-animated film produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and directed by Rich Moore, set among the characters of a fictional video arcade who travel between their own games after hours, following Ralph, the perpetual villain of an aging arcade game voiced by John C. Reilly, who abandons his post in search of a hero's medal and ends up in a candy-themed racing game where he befriends a glitchy outcast character named Vanellope. Its premise let the film move between distinct visual styles evoking classic arcade games, 8-bit platformers and modern console racers within a single story. It received an Academy Award nomination for Best Animated Feature and led to a 2018 sequel, Ralph Breaks the Internet.
