Flee is a 2021 animated documentary directed by Jonas Poher Rasmussen, an international co-production drawn in a sketchy, hand-drawn style resembling a graphic novel, telling the story of a man using the alias Amin Nawabi as he recounts fleeing Afghanistan for Denmark as a refugee, with his personal account interwoven with archival historical footage. It became the first film ever nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Animated Feature, Best Documentary Feature and Best International Feature Film in the same year, and it won the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and Best Feature at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival, the first animated documentary to win that Annecy award.
