Dumbo

Dumbo is a 1941 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by RKO Radio Pictures, supervised by director Ben Sharpsteen with several sequence directors working under him. The film follows a young circus elephant mocked for his oversized ears, who discovers with the help of a mouse named Timothy that his ears let him fly, and rises from an outcast to a celebrated performer. Made on a modest budget during the difficulties of the Second World War, Dumbo proved a financial success and was praised for its animation and storytelling, and in 2017 the Library of Congress selected it for the National Film Registry as culturally, historically and aesthetically significant, though some of its supporting crow characters have since drawn criticism for racial stereotyping.
