Doogal (film)

Doogal is the 2006 American release, redubbed with a new English-language voice cast, of the 2005 French-British computer-animated film The Magic Roundabout, directed by Jean Duval, Frank Passingham and Dave Borthwick and based on the classic stop-motion television series. In it, a greedy dog named Dougal accidentally destroys the magical Magic Roundabout that has imprisoned the evil ice wizard Zeebad, and must join a cynical snail, an opera-singing cow and a hippie rabbit on a globe-trotting quest for three enchanted diamonds needed to reimprison Zeebad and restore the roundabout. Made on a twenty-million-dollar budget against a twenty-six-point-seven-million-dollar worldwide box office, the film marked the property's transition from stop-motion to computer animation; a planned sequel never materialized after the studio Action Synthese closed in 2013.
