The Rescuers is a 1977 American animated film produced by Walt Disney Productions, based on Margery Sharp's novels The Rescuers and Miss Bianca. It follows Bernard and Miss Bianca, two mice belonging to an international mouse rescue organization, voiced by Bob Newhart and Eva Gabor, as they travel to a remote swamp to save a kidnapped orphan girl from treasure hunters seeking a hidden diamond. Its commercial success helped revive Disney's animation studio during a period of declining output, and it became the first Disney animated feature to receive a theatrical sequel, The Rescuers Down Under.
