The Lego Movie

The Lego Movie is a 2014 computer-animated film directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller for Warner Animation Group, following an ordinary construction worker named Emmet Brickowski who is mistaken for a prophesied hero after finding a powerful artifact and is drawn into a resistance movement against a tyrant threatening to freeze the Lego universe with a superweapon. The filmmakers built the film's look to imitate stop-motion animation of physical bricks, restricting their computer-animated rigs to the same joint articulation real Lego minifigures have, constructing scenery with the Lego Group's own Lego Digital Designer software, and even scanning real minifigures under a microscope to reproduce authentic surface seams and wear in the digital textures.
